One of the must-see cities that tourists should see when they visit Europe is Frankfurt, Germany's fifth largest city. In Frankfurt there are lots of historical buildings, museums, grand churches, opera houses, and modern skyscrapers that can literally take your breath away. However, after a day of sightseeing you may well want to experience Frankfurt's nightlife, and this city won't let you down. There are many bars and restaurants, be it casual dining or a more formal dining experience that you're looking for - and of course plenty of nightclubs open to the early hours. Frankfurt has so much to offer, you shouldn't have too much difficulty finding something that you like. It's ideal for a weekend break - but before you put Frankfurt in your itinerary, where can you find cheap flights from London to Frankfurt? -- Airline Companies Offering Flights from London to Frankfurt -- One of the airlines that fly from London to Frankfurt and back on a regular basis is Swiss International. Although they're a fairly recent addition to the pan-European air service, they're quickly becoming popular. Although Swiss International might not be that well known in the UK they're actually the biggest airline in Switzerland. BA (British Airways) is another airline which flies directly between Frankfurt and London. The biggest airline in the United Kingdom, BA has to be one of the most widely recognised airlines in the world. In fact, any big international airport that doesn't offer British Airways flights is probably in the minority. BMI or British Midland Airways is another British airline which regularly flies to Frankfurt. BMI have now been flying passengers for many years. They are another airline which operates internationally. At the time of writing BMI carries almost 12% of all passengers that travel to and from London. Lufthansa, otherwise known as Deutsche Lufthansa, is approximately the 5th largest airline in the world. It is however thought to be the largest airline in Europe. As the name suggests, Deutsche Lufthansa is headquartered in Germany. -- Usual Flight Times for cheap flights from London to Frankfurt -- At the moment, Swiss International has flights that operate from London to Frankfurt on most days - flight times are 12.25pm, 6.00pm and 8.40pm - at least that information is correct at the time of writing. Flight times are just over an hour. If you want to get there earlier, BA might be a better option with the first flight of the day leaving at 7.25am. An even earlier option is BMI - it's first flight leaves at an eye watering 6.25am! Further BMI flights leave at 9:05 am, 11:50 am, 2:15 pm, 5:05 pm, 6:05 pm, 7:05 pm, and 8:05 pm which means that BMI probably offer the most flying time options. Lufthansa offers fairly similar flying times. -- Where To Find Cheap Tickets and Departure/Arrival Airports -- Swiss airlines offered the cheapest tickets from London to Frankfurt when we checked recently. It shouldn't cost you more than 100 pounds for a return ticket as long as if you are prepared to book a little in advance. Flights are from Heathrow to Frankfurt International. BA offer similar value but sometimes require you to book a little more in advance to get their cheapest tickets - around 50 pounds for a single journey. Like Swiss airlines the route is from Heathrow to Frankfurt International. The two other flight providers that we discussed (i.e. BMI and Lufthansa) both also fly between Frankfurt International and London Heathrow airports, meaning that there is a lot of flight competition on this route. so, as long as if you book far enough in advance - 2 months should do it - you shouldn't have any trouble in finding cheap flights from London to Frankfurt.
